Role Overview: The Data Science Level 2 Producer at Levi Strauss & Co. is a key contributor to our growing data science team, responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced analytical models and solutions that drive business insights and impact. Working closely with senior data scientists and managers, this role will apply sophisticated statistical and machine learning techniques to various business challenges, from optimizing marketing campaigns and personalizing customer experiences to improving supply chain efficiency and product design. This position requires strong technical skills, a passion for problem-solving, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, impactful data products.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, validate, and deploy predictive models and machine learning algorithms to address specific business problems across functions like merchandising, marketing, supply chain, and e-commerce.

Perform in-depth data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that inform strategic decisions.

Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data quality, availability, and pipeline efficiency.

Translate complex analytical results into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.

Participate in the entire data science project lifecycle, from ideation and data exploration to model deployment and monitoring.

Assist in the design and execution of A/B tests and other experiments to measure the impact of new initiatives.

Research and evaluate new data science methodologies and tools to enhance team capabilities.

Document models, code, and analyses thoroughly for reproducibility and knowledge sharing.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of data science practices within the team.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

2-4 years of professional experience in a data science, machine learning engineering, or advanced analytics role.

Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python (with libraries like pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy) or R.

Solid understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, time series analysis), and experimental design.

Proficiency with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.

Experience working with large datasets and familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) is a plus.

Ability to communicate technical concepts and findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and solving challenges.

Experience in the retail, fashion, or consumer goods industry is a plus.
