Job Description

Competencies and skills:

  • Ontology, taxonomy, and controlled vocabulary development
  • Classification/indexing
  • Knowledge of W3C semantic web standards: SKOS, RDF, OWL
  • Data catalog analysis and metadata best practices
  • Metadata standards: ANSI/NISO Z39.19-2005, Dublin Core/DCMI, SCHEMA.org, ISO familiarity
  • Experience with taxonomy and knowledge management tools such as Synaptica Graphite, PoolParty, Semaphore, etc.
  • Ideal candidate would have background in library or information science

Responsibilities and tasks:

  • Create an inventory of metadata across various metadata systems
  • Index/tag data assets with tags (e.g. domains, subdomains, source)
  • Collaborate on and implement new naming standards for data products in Databricks
