Role: Data Governance SME / Data Platform Owner

Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid)

Job Summary

Tech/Business/Data Analyst for People Domain Activation project.

The role focuses on enabling transition to a Data-as-a-Product operating model by working with domain owners, data stewards, engineers, and business teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead inventory of People (HR) domain data assets
• Collaborate with data architects & engineers on data models (conceptual, logical, physical)
• Define data quality rules, validations, and issue management workflows
• Convert business requirements into user stories & data mappings
• Analyze large datasets for trends and insights
• Use Microsoft Purview for cataloging, lineage, and data health
• Work with business users for reporting & analytics solutions
• Support business cases with quantitative analysis
• Present insights to stakeholders
• Implement data governance & management best practices
• Drive process improvements using data-driven approaches
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Strong understanding of HR / People data
• Deep knowledge of HR processes & architecture
• Knowledge of PI/PHI data handling
• Exposure to DM&G standards & enterprise data models
• Strong skills in:
• SQL, Excel, Python
• Tableau / Power BI
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• High attention to detail
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in HR domain or insurance industry
• Hands-on with Microsoft Purview (catalog & lineage)
• Knowledge of data lake / data hub concepts
• Experience in Agile / cross-functional teams
