Job Title: Data Governance Analyst

Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Governance Analyst to support enterprise data governance initiatives with a focus on file share oversight and compliance controls. This role will be responsible for monitoring data access, retention, and security compliance, identifying policy violations, and ensuring audit readiness across enterprise file share environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor dashboards and reports to identify non-compliant activities related to data access, retention, and security policies
• Investigate anomalies and partner with SMEs, InfoSec, and data owners to remediate issues
• Execute and track governance controls, ensuring compliance across file share environments
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and evidence of control execution
• Support development of governance policies, SOPs, and control documentation
• Assist in onboarding and migration of environments into governance frameworks
• Improve automation for compliance tracking, reporting, and evidence collection
• Support control testing, audits, and remediation tracking
• Contribute to governance metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
  
  

Required Skills:

• Strong experience in Data Governance, Data Security, or Compliance
• Hands-on experience with Varonis or similar data security/file monitoring tools
• Knowledge of Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
• Experience with access controls, data retention policies, and audit processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud file systems (SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.)
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (SOX, GDPR, HIPAA)
• Exposure to automation tools (PowerShell, Python)
• Experience with CMDB or asset/configuration management

• Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration
• Detail-oriented with a focus on compliance and accuracy
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
