Position: Computer Engineer III
SAIC is seeking a Computer Engineer III to support the Expeditionary Electronic Warfare Division at NSWC Crane. This position is responsible for performing Threat Load Development on the Ground - Based Air Defense (GBAD) and Multi-Function Electronic Warfare systems (MFEW). Both systems represent a modernization effort aimed at protecting Marines from air threats, specifically unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), cruise missiles, and aircraft. GBAD program aims to detect, track, identify, and defeat adversary air threats. It is focused on accelerating the delivery of counter-UAS (C-UAS) technology to Marines. The MFEW system is a crucial, rapidly deployed tool for electronic warfare (EW), often used to support the Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF). The ideal candidate will be at the forefront in the design, development and execution of complex systems as well as developing and executing test and evaluation procedures. You will be working onsite in a fast paced and dynamic environment where teamwork and collaboration are essential. Must posses current SECRET clearance and eligible to obtain TS/SCI.
Responsibilities:
Computer Engineer III will be responsible for the following:
Design, develop, and integrate complex software systems and applications aligned to program and mission requirements.
Contribute to software architecture and technical solutioning.
Lead or support system integration, testing (DT), and defect resolution efforts.
Perform advanced debugging, performance tuning, and root cause analysis.
Ensure requirements traceability and alignment with system design artifacts.
Interface with government stakeholders, including PMAs and organizations such as NAVSEA and NAVAIR, as well as Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC).
Enforce secure coding standards and support compliance with RMF/CMMC requirements.
Review code, designs, and technical deliverables for quality and compliance.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
Identify and mitigate technical risks.
Qualifications
Skills and Experience:
5-7 years of relevant experience and working knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Java, C , Python)
Experience in Agile or iterative development environments
Apply standard principles and practices
Works on complex tasks independently
Will lead small technical efforts or mentor others
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
