Overview
Apex Systems is seeking a Commissioning Owner's Representative Project Manager to support data center construction programs in Omaha, Nebraska. This role oversees commissioning activities, vendor coordination, design review, quality, schedule, and handover of mission-critical infrastructure. Commissioning Owner's Representative Project Manager - Apex Systems (Omaha, NE)
Overview
Apex Systems is seeking a Commissioning Owner's Representative Project Manager to support data center construction programs in Omaha, Nebraska. This role oversees commissioning activities, vendor coordination, design review, quality, schedule, and handover of mission-critical infrastructure. The PM acts as the owner's proxy to ensure technical, safety, and operational standards are met from design through turnover.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end commissioning oversight for data center construction projects.
- Manage design reviews, construction progress, equipment startup, and commissioning workflows.
- Coordinate vendors, contractors, and commissioning agents to ensure adherence to standards.
- Oversee electrical, mechanical, controls, fire safety, and security system validation.
- Maintain schedule, track risks, and ensure all commissioning milestones are achieved.
- Support FAT/SAT activities, quality inspections, and readiness checklists.
- Provide owner-level governance across documentation, handover, and operations integration.
- Communicate progress clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
- 5 years experience in data center or mission-critical project management.
- Experience with electrical, mechanical, controls, fire safety, and data center infrastructure.
- Understanding of startup/commissioning processes.
- Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering and construction teams.
- Experience with design-build delivery models and vendor management.
- Familiarity with fast-track construction environments.
- Strong skills in requirements gathering, scheduling, task prioritization, and risk management.
- Experience managing commissioning deliverables across multiple trades and systems.
