Job Description:
A Collibra Data Catalog Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing the Collibra data catalog platform to ensure effective metadata management, data governance, and data lineage. This role involves collaborating with various business units to capture and document catalog use cases, configure and deploy the Collibra system, and ensure accurate data classification and technical lineage.
Key Responsibilities:
Metadata Management: Configure and ingest metadata from respective systems into the Collibra data catalog. Migrate technical metadata enrichment, lineage, and mappings from one system to another within Collibra.
Data Governance: Ensure the integrity and accuracy of migrated data, validate migration results, and share outcomes with business function teams.
Workflow Development: Develop custom workflows within Collibra to automate metadata management processes and improve migration efficiency.
Collaboration: Work closely with business units to capture and document catalog use cases, translate them into technical requirements, and support the business function team in validating migrated metadata.
Technical Support: Provide technical support for the Collibra platform, including troubleshooting issues and proposing automation solutions.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: Solid experience in metadata management, data cataloging, and data governance, particularly within the Collibra data catalog platform.
Skills: Proficiency in metadata modeling and management tools such as Collibra, strong knowledge of data management principles and best practices, excellent interpersonal skills, accountability, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Methodologies: Experience with AGILE and DevOps methodologies, capability to think strategically, and good negotiation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in configuring and deploying Collibra data catalog systems.
Ability to build reusable test cases to validate metadata migration.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across various stakeholders, including internal and external parties.
