Responsibilities:
As our CNC Toolmaker/Shop Manager, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing all aspects of the CNC shop, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Programming, setting up, and operating 4 5 axis CNC machines to produce precision parts and tools.
- Using AutoCAD and other CAD software to design and modify parts and fixtures.
- Creating and optimizing CNC programs for new and existing parts.
- Developing and implementing CNC fixturing strategies to enhance efficiency and precision.
- Managing the maintenance, repair, and replacement of machinery and equipment.
- Leading, training, and mentoring a team of engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Working closely with other departments to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Continuously evaluating and improving processes and procedures to increase productivity and quality.
The ideal candidate for the CNC Toolmaker/Shop Manager position should possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the engineering industry.
- Extensive experience with 4 5 axis CNC machines, including programming, setup, and operation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, CAD, and other relevant software.
- Experience with CNC fixturing and a strong understanding of its principles and applications.
- A strong technical background with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven track record of motivating and developing a high-performing team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A degree in engineering or a related field is preferred but not essential.
