Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Engineer III with strong expertise in Java, Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), CI/CD pipelines, Java development, and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable cloud-based applications and automation solutions. The candidate should possess hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, source control management, database technologies, and event-driven architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications and services on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
- Build, optimize, and support CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and other automation platforms.
- Develop and maintain backend services and applications using Java and related frameworks.
- Implement and manage build automation using Maven.
- Manage source code repositories and branching strategies using Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, and SVN.
- Design, write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries and work with relational database management systems (RDBMS).
- Develop and support event-driven and real-time data processing solutions using Apache Kafka.
- Collaborate with developers, QA teams, architects, and operations teams to ensure smooth software delivery and deployment.
- Monitor application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and implement improvements for reliability and scalability.
- Follow DevOps best practices including infrastructure automation, continuous integration, continuous deployment, and release management.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in software engineering, cloud technologies, or DevOps engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Build, etc.).
- Expertise in CI/CD implementation and automation using Jenkins.
- Strong programming experience in Java and build management using Maven.
- Proficiency with version control systems including GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, and SVN.
- Experience working with SQL and RDBMS platforms such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and messaging/event streaming architectures.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
- Google Cloud Platform certifications (Associate Cloud Engineer, Professional Cloud Developer, or equivalent).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, Grafana, or Prometheus.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
