Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Cerner Millennium CCL & Data Transformation Lead to support Electronic Health Record (EHR) migration initiatives. This role combines deep technical expertise in Cerner Millennium data management with hands-on development, data extraction, and transformation capabilities.

The selected candidate will work closely with clinical stakeholders, informatics teams, and technical delivery units to ensure that clinical workflows and operational requirements are accurately translated into technical solutions, including CCL logic, data extracts, and reporting frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand business objectives, analyze problems, and identify alternative solutions, including cost/benefit analysis.
• Assess and document clinical workflows across inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary care settings.
• Translate clinical and operational requirements into technical specifications for reporting, data extraction, and analytics.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain Cerner Command Language (CCL) scripts within Cerner Millennium environments.
• Perform complex data extraction, validation, and reconciliation from Cerner Millennium (Oracle-based) schemas.
• Support enterprise-wide EHR data migration, reporting, and legacy system retirement initiatives.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes, structured data feeds, and flat file extracts.
• Troubleshoot and optimize CCL scripts, resolving performance and data integration issues.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze current systems, identify gaps, and improve automation processes.
• Communicate technical constraints, data limitations, and dependencies to non-technical stakeholders.
• Manage batch jobs and support production/non-production environments.
• Evaluate system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling constraints to determine feasibility of enhancements.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 11 years of experience in healthcare IT, with strong expertise in EHR systems.
• Extensive experience with Cerner Command Language (CCL) development and optimization.
• Strong understanding of Cerner Millennium architecture and Oracle databases.
• Proven experience supporting large-scale EHR implementations, migrations, or optimization projects.
• Expertise in translating clinical workflows into technical/data solutions.
• Hands-on experience with:
• SQL and Linux environments
• Data extraction, transformation, and migration strategies
• ETL process design and support
• System integration and reporting environments
• Experience with REST/SOA-based services and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of networking and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Java, C, C , Python, Perl, or OCI.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or OCI.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working directly within Cerner Millennium environments.
• Experience as a Senior Cerner Consultant or Technical Lead.
• Familiarity with healthcare data standards and interoperability frameworks.
