Qualifications:
5 years of related experience ; Bachelor's or a higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience in vehicle level CAE analysis, testing and development
Experience with performing linear analysis, non-linear analysis, fatigue analysis, design optimization, dynamic analysis with industry standard CAE tools.
Sound fundamental knowledge of structures and mechanics of materials
Proficiency in using ANSA, HyperMesh, HyperView, MetaPost, nCode, OptiStruct or similar CAE softwares.
Strong knowledge of vehicle performance requirements, deriving load cases from requirements, setting performance targets, developing testing and validation plans.
The Role
Perform strength, stiffness, and fatigue analysis on different vehicle subsystems (chassis, closures, body structure, powertrain etc)
Perform correlation between test and CAE
Maintain traceable documentation for all durability analysis and test work
Able to create FEM mesh from CAD or from rough sketches
Support design engineers in making sure the parts meet all the durability requirements
Able to learn and use different CAE software tools (nCode Design Life, ANSA, MetaPost, OptiStruct, Hyperworks CAE products, ADAMS etc).
Test and benchmark new analysis tools and techniques. Participate in new CAE method development, process automation and benchmarking tasks.
