What You'll Be Doing
- Install and route Cat5, Cat6, and fiber optic cabling
- Pull, terminate, and test cables, including 110/66 blocks and patch panels
- Perform rack and stack installations and build network closets
- Install cable tray, conduit, wireway, and other infrastructure components
- Mount backboards, racks, cross-connects, patch panels, and fiber hardware
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents
- Work in both indoor and outdoor environments on data center builds
- Operate hand and power tools such as cable cutters, drills, and compression tools
- Ensure proper grounding of racks, equipment, and cabling
- At least 1 year of commercial cabling or similar experience
- Experience with structured cabling, including Cat5 and Cat6
- Strong skills in cable installation, punch-downs, and terminations
- Ability to interpret blueprints and follow technical documentation
- Knowledge of universal communications color codes
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Fiber optic installation or pulling experience
- Network equipment exposure
- Experience working in data centers or large commercial environments
- Construction and data center settings
