Key Responsibilities:
- Sourcing and Supplier Management:
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
- Identify, qualify, and evaluate new suppliers to ensure compliance with procurement policies, quality standards, and delivery requirements.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and terms with suppliers, ensuring alignment with the company s objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Procurement Process Management:
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for electronics components, materials, and services.
- Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders, ensuring timely placement, accurate documentation, and adherence to internal controls.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including engineering and production teams, to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other government-specific procurement policies.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and vendor performance data for audit and reporting purposes.
- Cost and Performance Management:
- Monitor supplier performance against contract terms, including quality, cost, and delivery metrics.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and work with suppliers to reduce lead times and improve delivery schedules.
- Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to optimize procurement strategies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the engineering and quality control teams to ensure that materials and components meet the technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods to production lines.
- Proven experience in procurement, with a focus on defense electronics, electronics manufacturing, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of government procurement regulations (FAR, DFARS, ITAR, etc.) and defense contracting requirements.
- Familiarity with procurement and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve procurement challenges.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Workplace experience will be taken into consideration relative to education requirements.
- Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, C.P.M., or equivalent) is a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the Defense Electronics or Aerospace Industries.
- Experience working with government contracts and knowledge of compliance requirements for defense procurement is preferred.
