Business Systems Analyst
Hansen Talent Group is seeking a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to support an Information Systems team in a regulated enterprise environment. This role partners closely with infrastructure, change management, and technical teams to ensure business needs are clearly defined, documented, and translated into effective system and process solutions.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with experience supporting change management, process documentation, and requirements analysis in environments that require audit-ready documentation.
What You’ll Do
- Define and document customer needs in both business and technical contexts
- Ensure proposed technical and process solutions align with business objectives
- Provide guidance on planning, prioritization, and execution of business support activities
- Requirements Elicitation & Documentation (30%)
- Gather, analyze, and document user and system requirements
- Organize information into clear, logical documentation for both business and IT audiences
- Solution & Development Support (25%)
- Guide business and technical teams throughout system development and change initiatives
- Support solutions that align with established processes and standards
- Knowledge Sharing (10%)
- Facilitate knowledge transfer related to business unit goals and system direction
- Testing & Deployment Support (10%)
- Review problem logs and change documentation
- Assist with test plans, test matrices, and validation activities
- Business Process Improvement (20%)
- Provide input on system and process improvements
- Validate business needs driving system changes
- Training & Mentorship (5%)
- Assist with developing and maintaining training materials
- Support or mentor less experienced team members
- Work with SMEs and team members to create, maintain, and review departmental processes and procedures
- Ensure documentation meets required audit and compliance standards
- Support change coordination activities and ensure adherence to change management processes
- Partner with team leads and management on data gathering, reporting, and presentations
- Review reports and tools and recommend improvements to data presentation and usability
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
- OR equivalent combination of education and professional experience
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in IT business analysis or a related role
- Experience gathering, documenting, and validating business and system requirements
- Experience creating and maintaining audit-ready documentation and process documentation
- Proficiency with:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Azure Boards
- ServiceNow
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast‑paced, high‑visibility environment
- Experience working in government, healthcare, or other highly regulated environments
- Familiarity with formal audit or compliance standards
- Experience with:
- ServiceNow workflows or reporting
- Scripting or automation tools (Ansible preferred)
- Monitoring or analytics tools (e.g., Splunk or similar)
- Experience supporting infrastructure teams or formal change management processes
