Job Details
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)
- Duration: 6-month contract (extension or conversion possible)
- Location: 100% Remote (U.S.)
- Develop and deploy Python-based microservices in an AWS cloud environment
- Support and extend existing serverless Lambda services and deployment pipelines
- Write clean, secure, and maintainable code with a focus on production readiness
- Work within an established CI/CD pipeline to deploy and manage services
- Participate in code reviews and collaborate with other engineers
- Support production monitoring, debugging, and root-cause analysis
- Leverage AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot) to improve development efficiency and code quality
- Strong backend experience with Python, specifically in microservices architectures
- Hands-on experience deploying and supporting services in AWS, ideally serverless (Lambda)
- Ability to read, understand, and extend existing codebases (not just greenfield work)
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment workflows
- Comfort supporting production systems, including troubleshooting and debugging
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Experience with AWS observability/monitoring (CloudWatch, Datadog, etc.)
- Prior work in event-driven architectures
- Experience using GitHub Copilot or other AI coding tools
- Exposure to API development and backend service design
