Description
We are looking for an AWS Cloud Engineer to help deliver secure and efficient cloud solutions for a financial services client in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented candidate who brings strong experience modernizing infrastructure and moving business-critical workloads from traditional data center environments into AWS. The role centers on building resilient cloud architectures, applying automation, and supporting compliance-focused delivery in a regulated setting.
Responsibilities:
Drive the migration of enterprise applications and infrastructure from on-premises environments into AWS while minimizing disruption to business operations.
Create and refine AWS architecture designs that emphasize scalability, security, performance, and operational reliability.
Use AWS migration services and related tooling, including Migration Hub and DataSync, to plan, coordinate, and execute workload transitions.
Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and CloudFormation to improve consistency, speed, and governance.
Implement cloud security controls and configuration standards that align with regulatory expectations and internal compliance requirements.
Partner with technical teams and stakeholders to assess current environments, define migration approaches, and resolve cloud deployment challenges.
Optimize AWS-based environments by monitoring resource usage, improving configurations, and supporting stable post-migration operations.

Requirements
The successful AWS Engineer will have:
5 years of AWS experience
Proven datacenter-to-cloud migration expertise
Strong knowledge of EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS
Experience with migration toolsets and frameworks
Preferred:
Financial services industry experience
AWS certifications
Background required prior to employment.
