Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to manage cloud databases on AWS while working directly with client to ensure performance, security, availability, and data reliability.

Required Qualifications

• 10 years of DBA experience
• Strong experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
• Proven experience in client-facing or support roles
• Strong knowledge of performance tuning, security, and DR strategies
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
  
  

Technical Responsibilities

• Manage AWS RDS databases (SQL Server and PostgreSQL)
• Perform database provisioning, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning
• Implement backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies
• Ensure database security, encryption, and access controls
• Monitor database health and resolve performance issues
• Support production databases
  
  

Client-Facing Responsibilities

• Act as the primary database contact for client environments
• Gather database requirements and provide architecture recommendations
• Participate in client meetings, database reviews, and planning sessions
• Explain database performance issues and solutions to clients clearly
• Support client incidents, RCA discussions, and audit requests
• Provide database documentation, standards, and operational runbooks
• Advise clients on best practices for scalability, reliability, and cost optimization
