- Perform avionics maintenance in accordance with FCC, FAA, and company policies and regulations
- Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems and components
- Route wiring and install avionics systems according to technical drawings and schematics
- Maintain and properly use test equipment, tools, and technical manuals
- Inspect avionics systems, structures, and related aircraft equipment
- Support aviation operations involving safety-sensitive equipment and systems
- Must own personal tools in good working condition
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications
- Experience routing wires and installing avionics systems from technical drawings
- Advanced skills with:
- Avionics installation tooling
- Wiring installation and repair
- Soldering and crimping techniques
- Familiarity with FCC regulations or FCC GROL
- Basic understanding of avionics testing equipment such as:
- Spectrometers
- Oscilloscopes
- Pitot-static equipment
- Background in Aerospace & Defense, U.S. Department of Defense, or U.S. Military
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Typically 5 years of relevant avionics experience
- A higher-level degree may substitute for some experience
- Related hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
- Frequent walking, sitting, standing, and climbing stairs or steps
- Repetitive hand, arm, and finger movements requiring fine dexterity
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and color differentiation
- Hearing ability to discern different tones and volumes
- Occasionally lift or carry up to 50 lbs
- Regular exposure to outdoor elements (heat, cold, sun, rain, snow)
- Exposure to fumes or hazardous materials
- Exposure to loud environments
