Job Description

The ARISE Analytics - Platform team is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Software Engineer to join our team. On this team you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining the underlying platforms that enable our developers to build, deploy, and manage applications efficiently. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our platforms are scalable, secure, and meet the evolving needs of our business. The ARISE Analytics team works closely with A/AI Research engineers, so a working understanding of Machine Learning principles is desirable. Candidates applying to this position should have a Bachelor's degree, or greater, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or an equivalent field with significant software development experience.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Software Engineer, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Collaborate with other platform engineers to design, develop, and deploy services such as CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and service meshes

Develop and maintain platform automation scripts and tools using languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell

Participate in the development of platform architecture and ensure alignment with business requirements

Work with development teams to onboard applications onto the platform and provide support for platform-related issues

Monitor platform performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations

Collaborate with security teams to ensure platform security and compliance

Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve platform capabilities

Document platform architecture, design decisions, and operational procedures

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

3 years of experience in software development, DevOps, or a related field

Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python or C

Basic understanding of cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

Familiarity with containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes

Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) concepts and tools, such as AWS CloudFormation or Azure Resource Manager

Strong understanding of DevSecOps concepts, such as Continuous Delivery and Observability

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Desired Skills

Experience with platform engineering tools, such as Terraform, Ansible, or Kubernetes

Experience with agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban

Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks, such as NIST or OWASP

Experience with monitoring and logging tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI

Certification in cloud computing, DevOps, or a related field (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, Certified Scrum Master, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, etc.)

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

    Ability to work remotely

    Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

    Work Schedule Information

    Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

    National Pay Statement

    Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $93,200 - $164,450. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

    Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.

    (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

    This position is incentive plan eligible.

    Premium Pay Statement

    Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $107,300 - $185,840. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
