Position Summary: The Analytics Specialist will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive data models that support CalPERS' analytics and business needs. Their work will encompass creating models that consist of data pipelines, the structure of the data, physical and virtual instances of the data, and optimizing for the analytics performed on the modeled data.

Required Skills & Experience:
- Data Modeling: Relational data modeling, cloud-based data modeling, medallion architecture
- Power BI: Power BI data modeling for visualization and analytics
- AI/ML: AI/Machine Learning-specific data models, feature engineering, data preparation
- Erwin Data Modeler: Proficiency in Erwin Data Modeler software
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with modern cloud architectures for data processing
- Documentation: Data dictionaries, entity-relationship diagrams, technical documentation
- Knowledge Transfer: Training, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to state staff
- Public Sector Experience: Preferred (CalPERS is a state agency)
- Extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining complex data models in Snowflake.
- Extensive knowledge of Power BI, including data modeling, data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, report development, and performance optimization.
- Extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining complex relational data models, including working with Oracle databases and managing Data Definition Language (DDL) scripts.
- Extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining AI/Machine Learning-specific data models.
- Extensive experience with Erwin Data Modeler.
- Experience working with state agencies that provide pension and health benefits.
