Job Summary
CGI is seeking an experienced Accessibility .NET Developer to support remediation of accessibility issues across legacy ASP.NET applications. This role focuses on identifying, fixing, and validating accessibility defects in compliance with WCAG 2.1/2.2 and Section 508 standards. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in C#, ASP.NET (Web Forms/MVC), and front-end technologies, along with hands-on experience in accessibility compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Remediate accessibility issues in legacy ASP.NET applications
- Analyze application pages, controls, and workflows to identify compliance gaps
- Modify and enhance HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and ASP.NET code
- Implement accessibility fixes related to:
- Keyboard navigation
- Focus management
- Semantic HTML & ARIA roles
- Forms, tables, error handling, and dynamic content
- Work with audit reports, defect backlogs, and QA feedback to resolve issues
- Collaborate with QA and business teams to validate fixes and prevent regressions
- Support manual and automated accessibility testing
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and code reviews
- Document remediation strategies and reusable patterns
- Strong experience in C# and .NET development
- Hands-on experience with legacy ASP.NET (Web Forms and/or MVC)
- Strong front-end skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery
- Experience in accessibility remediation for web applications
- Knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2 and Section 508 standards
- Experience handling accessibility issues related to:
- Keyboard navigation
- Screen readers
- Forms, tables, dialogs, dynamic UI
- Familiarity with GitHub or similar source control tools
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Agile/Scrum experience
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience with ARIA authoring practices
- Familiarity with accessibility tools like Axe, WAVE, Accessibility Insights
- Experience with screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver)
- Knowledge of SQL Server, IIS, Azure DevOps
- Experience in enterprise or regulated environments
- Exposure to UI automation or regression testing
- Experience working with legacy systems with limited documentation
- Project supporting a state agency s public-facing platform
- Work within an established legacy codebase
- Requires ability to ramp up quickly and work independently
- Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential
