Job Summary:
Remitly is a company focused on transforming lives with trusted financial services. They are seeking a Senior Data Analyst, Fraud (SMB) to apply data science and analytics techniques to mitigate fraud risk and support product development in the SMB lending space.
Responsibilities:
• Become an expert on Remitly's risk management systems and customer experience
• Build a unified understanding of how SMB / Fraud data, customer experiences, and goals align
• Own metrics used to evaluate SMB system performance and customer friction
• Formulate hypotheses, design and evaluate product experiments
• Generate insights and help define & execute longer term product strategies and roadmaps across multiple product teams
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5 years in a data analyst role or similar full-time, professional experience
• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, engineering, economics, or another quantitative field (or equivalent additional experience)
• Intermediate SQL Proficiency
• Working knowledge of Python or R for data analysis
• Expertise with statistical concepts (e.g. A/B testing, probability theory, forecasting) and how they can be applied in real-world situations
• Experience distilling business problems, developing hypotheses, building an analytical framework, carrying out an analysis, and writing a clear recommendation
• Strong data storytelling skills, including data visualization, technical writing, and business writing
• Experience finding creative solutions within the constraints of complex systems and policies
