Job Summary:
The University of Houston is seeking a Digital Marketing Manager to oversee the operations of a large university program or department. This role involves managing staff, fiscal activities, and developing marketing strategies while ensuring effective communication and engagement with students.
Responsibilities:
• Manages the day-to-day operations of a large university program or department, including the supervision of staff employees, student workers, programs or processes.
• Plans and develops procedures for administering a large or complex department or program.
• Manages fiscal activities, including procurement and budget analysis.
• Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluates performance.
• Prepares abstracts, research reports, funding proposals, operations and procedure manuals, and other written material and documentation.
• Creates and reviews reports of expenditures and activities.
• May administer grants and grant-related related communications, scholarships and other operations.
• Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies and procedures.
• May serve as property custodian for the department.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
• Manages website and content to ensure accuracy; manages social media content creation, deployment and engagement; writes and edits content for CRM platforms, marketing campaigns and newsletters; develops graphic designs for electronic and print media.
• Advises prospective and enrolled students regarding online and special programs; coordinates and participates in recruitment activities, including recruitment events, open houses, information sessions and webinar.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline.
• Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
• Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience.
• Must be a multi-tasker, extremely organized, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to clearly interpret and implement policies and procedures.
• Ability to interact with all levels of internal and external constituents.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Self-starter.
• Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to work independently while also collaborating as part of a team.
Preferred:
• Advanced understanding of marketing across social media platforms, including audience engagement strategies.
• Experience or familiarity with Google analytics, SEO optimization strategies, user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design.
• Experience or familiarity with graphic design software such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite.
