Airtable is a cloud-based software company that offers an online platform for creating and sharing relational databases. They are looking for founding members of their Traffic Engineering team to manage traffic across their network and routing infrastructure reliably and securely.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a founding engineer on a 3-person (plus plans to grow) Traffic Infrastructure software team.
- Assist in developing the vision and identifying high-impact early projects, and delivering your projects.
- Improve Airtable’s resilience to hardware issues (eg. network partitions, AZ loss, region loss, database failure), traffic spikes, and inefficient business logic.
- Evolve key foundations of Airtable’s infrastructure like RPC, service mesh, interprocess authentication, load balancing, route definitions, global traffic routing, and failure recovery.
Qualification
Required
- 2 years in Software Engineering
Preferred
- Experience with service mesh, traffic engineering, and/or cloud networking
- Experience working on high-scale, low-latency systems with better than 99.9% uptime SLOs
- Deep experience with AWS and/or k8s
