We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join our growing team in the Mundelein area. Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze project specifications, drawings, and blueprints to determine scope of work and material requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for structural steel fabrication projects, including material costs, labor, equipment, and overhead.
- Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to clarify project details and ensure estimate accuracy.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to secure competitive pricing on materials and services.
- Prepare professional bid proposals and presentations for clients and contractors.
- Track estimate accuracy and historical project data to continuously improve estimating processes and profitability.
- 3 years of experience in structural steel estimating.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong knowledge of steel fabrication processes, materials, and industry standards (AISC certification a plus).
- Demonstrated ability to perform detailed calculations and material takeoffs accurately.
