We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Counsel to join our dynamic team in the scientific industry. As a Senior Counsel, you will play a critical role in providing legal guidance and support to our organization. This is a permanent position that offers excellent benefits and opportunities for career growth.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice and counsel on a wide range of corporate matters, including but not limited to regulatory compliance, labor and employment, and product safety.
- Develop and implement effective safety programs to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and mitigate potential legal risks associated with new products and initiatives.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of laws and regulations to ensure compliance and inform business decisions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, including litigation, arbitration, and regulatory investigations.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, changes in laws, and best practices to provide proactive legal advice and support.
- Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on legal matters, including compliance requirements and risk management strategies.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed, ensuring effective communication and cost-effective legal representation.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an attorney, preferably in a corporate or regulatory environment.
- Strong knowledge and experience in corporate law, regulatory compliance, labor and employment law, and product safety.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing safety programs and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
- Experience working in the scientific industry or a similar highly regulated industry is preferred.
- Experience working with international regulations and cross-border transactions is a plus.
