We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our financial department, serving as the primary point of contact for all cost accounting functions. This position is ideal for a professional with a strong background in the engineering industry, specifically aerospace manufacturing, who is looking to apply their skills in a challenging and rewarding environment.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Cost Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Conducting regular DCAA audits to ensure adherence to government regulations and standards.
2. Utilizing Infor LN for various accounting tasks, including inventory valuation, reconciliations, and valuation analysis.
3. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date journal entries and financial reports.
4. Collaborating with the engineering and manufacturing departments to monitor production costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
5. Evaluating current accounting practices and recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
6. Assisting in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
7. Providing guidance and support to junior accounting staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Senior Cost Accountant position will possess the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within the engineering or aerospace manufacturing industry.
3. Proven experience with DCAA audits, Infor LN, inventory valuation, reconciliations, valuation analysis, journal entries, and financial reports.
4. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
5. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and accounting software.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
8. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
9. High level of integrity and reliability, with a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
