Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
- Lead and coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Analyze and report on margins by product and division.
- Analyze and report on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances.
- Analyze capital budgeting requests.
- Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision.
- Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to direct and supervise.
- Strong understanding of Six Sigma principles.
- Proficiency in using financial software systems, such as NetSuite and SAP.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite tools.
- Exceptional analytical skills and experience creating reports and presentations.
- Solid experience in risk analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees.
- Superior organizational and project management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.
