We are currently seeking a dynamic, motivated, and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Mortgage Industry team. This is a permanent, full-time position with a hybrid work model, offering the flexibility of combining remote work with on-site office collaboration. We offer a competitive salary, paid overtime, and a bonus structure. You will be part of a fast-paced environment that requires a high degree of urgency in completing tasks and assignments. Responsibilities
As a Senior Accountant, your key responsibilities will include
- Critically reviewing and preparing more complex individual, fiduciary, partnership, not-for-profit, and corporate tax returns.
- Conducting engagement planning, process and controls testing, analytical reviews, and accounting research.
- Effectively researching and explaining technical issues to staff, and motivating them to build their technical skills.
- Embracing and encouraging ongoing change and improvement, empowering staff at all levels to provide feedback and to personally make changes.
- Demonstrating leadership, problem-solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
To be considered for this role, you must have
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, specifically in the mortgage industry.
- At least 2 years of tax or audit experience.
- A strong understanding of accounting principles and tax codes.
- The ability to work towards or have already met the 150-semester unit requirement for CPA licensure, either under current or grandfathered standards. A CPA license is a plus.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, leadership qualities, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a high degree of urgency in completing tasks and assignments.
- The capacity to embrace and encourage ongoing change and improvement, and empower staff at all levels to provide feedback and to personally make changes.
