As the Quality Supervisor, you will oversee daily quality operations, manage lab/testing processes, and ensure all products meet internal and customer specifications. This position plays a key role in maintaining a HACCP-based food safety system and continuous improvement culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor Quality Technicians and Inspectors across shifts
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, and food safety standards in a packaging/manufacturing environment
- Lead quality audits, internal inspections, and regulatory compliance initiatives
- Monitor production processes including blown film and extrusion operations to ensure consistent product quality
- Manage non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
- Oversee lab testing, including physical and visual inspection of film products
- Maintain and improve quality management systems and documentation
- Partner with production to reduce scrap, improve yields, and optimize processes
- Support customer quality requirements, complaints, and corrective actions
- Train employees on quality standards, food safety practices, and SOPs
- 3–7 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control within manufacturing
- Experience in plastics, blown film, extrusion, or flexible packaging highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety standards
- Experience working in FDA-regulated or food-grade packaging environments preferred
- Familiarity with lab testing equipment, film inspection, and gauge control processes
- Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, 24/7 production environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience with root cause analysis
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Blown film or cast film extrusion processes
- Flexible packaging or converting environment
- ISO or similar quality systems
- Continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma a plus)
