A well-established heavy industrial metals manufacturer in the Rome, NY area is seeking experienced Maintenance Mechanics to support plant growth, backfill needs, and internal promotions. These are full time, long term roles offering strong pay, union stability, and a clear internal pathway to Master Mechanic level with an additional pay increase.
This position is ideal for individuals with hands on mechanical maintenance experience in a heavy manufacturing environment involving large equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics and preventive maintenance.

Job Details
What You’ll Do
Troubleshoot and repair heavy industrial machinery
Perform mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs
Pipe fitting, steam systems and furnace equipment support
Welding, machining and fabrication as needed
Rigging and machine alignment (belt and pulley drives)
Preventive maintenance tasks and inspections
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and manuals
Follow all safety procedures including LOTO
Top Must Haves
Heavy industrial maintenance experience (rollers, slitters, coilers, furnaces, boilers etc.)
Strong mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting
Preventive maintenance background
Ability to work safely in high noise, dusty, elevated and fast paced environments
Blueprint and schematic reading
