Job Details
Core Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for demolition, interior build-outs, and carpentry scopes
- Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and site visits
- Analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing to develop competitive bids
- Review project documents to determine scope, risks, and constructability
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes
- Conduct site walks to assess existing conditions, especially for renovation and demolition work
- Develop detailed bid proposals and present estimates to internal stakeholders
- Maintain pricing databases and stay current on market conditions, materials, and methods
- 4 years of estimating experience in construction, with a focus on demolition, interiors, or carpentry
- Field experience in demolition, carpentry, or a related trade strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and materials
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and bid documents
- Experience with takeoff and estimating software (e.g., Procore, STACK, or similar)
- Solid mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience estimating renovation or tenant improvement projects
- Knowledge of local building codes, safety standards, and demolition practices
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
- High attention to detail—small errors can significantly impact project outcomes
