A well-established, unionized heavy industrial manufacturer is looking to add an experienced Electrical Engineer to its engineering team. This role will lead capital projects, support plant reliability initiatives, and drive improvements across power distribution and automated systems. This is a high-impact position with strong visibility across operations, maintenance, and leadership.
This role operates in a heavy industrial setting and will involve exposure to noise, dust, heat, and moving equipment. Occasional off-shift or weekend support may be required.

Job Details
What You’ll Do:
Lead electrical engineering projects from concept through installation and commissioning
Oversee power distribution systems including high voltage infrastructure and substations
Develop scopes of work, manage budgets, and execute project timelines
Troubleshoot and improve electrical systems across production equipment
Program and support PLCs, HMIs, and drive systems
Partner with maintenance, operations, and external vendors to improve uptime and reliability
Support preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
7–10 years of experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
Strong experience with power distribution systems and electrical infrastructure
Hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, and drive systems
Knowledge of AC/DC systems and National Electrical Code (NEC)
Experience troubleshooting complex industrial equipment (mills, furnaces, processing lines, etc.)
Comfortable working in a union environment
Nice to Have:
Project management experience
Background in Lean manufacturing or reliability engineering
Experience with preventive or predictive maintenance programs
