1. Developing and implementing cost standards for materials and labor.
2. Preparing detailed reports, both periodic and ad-hoc, on manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, and cost analysis.
3. Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
4. Assisting in the design and implementation of the cost accounting system and procedures.
5. Reviewing and reconciling inventory counts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
6. Collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to evaluate and manage product costs.
7. Conducting physical inventories and monitoring the cycle count program.
8. Assisting with the preparation of year-end audit schedules and providing analysis as required.
9. Utilizing ERP systems for cost accounting and inventory management.
10. Ensuring compliance with US GAAP and other applicable regulations.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you will need:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field. A CPA or CMA certification would be a plus.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing accounting, with a focus on cost accounting.
3. Solid understanding and working knowledge of US GAAP.
4. Proficiency in inventory reporting and cost analysis.
5. Proficiency in using ERP systems for cost accounting and inventory management.
6. Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make well-judged decisions.
8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel.
10. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
