We are seeking a Controls Engineer to be responsible for the programming and optimization of instrumentation and our Distributed Control Systems (DCS). You will act as a technical leader, assisting maintenance and operations personnel in developing problem solving skills while identifying and executing cost reduction measures.

Job Details
We are seeking a Controls Engineer to be responsible for the programming and optimization of instrumentation and our Distributed Control Systems (DCS). You will act as a technical leader, assisting maintenance and operations personnel in developing problem solving skills while identifying and executing cost reduction measures.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and optimize production instrumentation and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
- Respond to departmental requests for system enhancements to improve safety and cost effectiveness.
- Provide troubleshooting and support for manufacturing data collection and historian systems.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity and overall mill efficiency.
- Collaborate with contractors and vendors to obtain quotes and procure services or materials.
- Plan and arrange maintenance and project activities to ensure minimal operational disruption.
- Coach and mentor field teams on process management and technical problem solving.
- Participate in weekend and holiday coverage rotations as needed to support 24/7 operations.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree in Process Controls, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or Instrumentation.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in a Controls Engineering role within an industrial setting.
- Technical Skills: Experience with DCS/QCS systems and data historian systems is highly desired.
- Continuous Improvement: Proven background in reliability improvement and lean tools.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for interacting with operators and leadership.
