Job Details:

We are currently seeking an experienced Permanent Controller with a background in the construction industry. This role is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to oversee accounting activities across multiple legal entities, job cost accounting, revenue recognition, and cost capitalization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing consolidated financial statements, leading the monthly close process, and ensuring compliance with GAAP, company accounting policies, and reporting requirements. This position requires a strong understanding of intercompany accounting policies, project cost reporting, job costing systems, inventory accounting, and fixed asset accounting. The successful candidate will also collaborate with various departments to improve cash conversion and mitigate risk, and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting activities across multiple legal entities
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements
• Lead the monthly close process for all entities
• Oversee all job cost accounting, revenue recognition, and cost capitalization
• Establish, maintain, and enforce intercompany accounting policies
• Oversee intercompany billing, settlements, and reconciliations
• Maintain accurate project cost reporting
• Establish and improve job costing systems, processes, and controls
• Oversee inventory accounting across multiple entities
• Account for fixed assets, land, equipment, and other company assets
• Oversee billing, collections, retainage, and payables related to projects
• Collaborate with treasury and operations to improve cash conversion and mitigate risk
• Serve as primary point of contact for external auditors
• Design, implement, and maintain internal controls over financial reporting
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5 years of experience in a similar role in the construction industry
• Strong understanding of GAAP and company accounting policies
• Proven experience with job cost accounting, revenue recognition, and cost capitalization
• Experience with intercompany accounting policies and reconciliations
• Demonstrated ability to oversee inventory accounting and fixed asset accounting
• Strong leadership skills and ability to collaborate with various departments
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to serve as primary point of contact for external auditors
• Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and maintain internal controls over financial reporting.
