Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate manual mills and lathes to machine stainless and other metals
• Use micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, angle/radius gauges with precision tolerances
• Read/interpret blueprints; identify potential drawing errors and suggest corrections
• Sweep in mill heads/vises; compensate for runout on lathes
• Set up jobs with or without documentation, optimizing feeds/speeds and tooling selection
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment and process issues to maintain quality and throughput
• Perform basic material handling; complete forklift and overhead crane training
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and quality standards in a busy manufacturing shop
  

You should have most of the following:

• 2 years of hands-on setup and operation of manual mills and lathes
• Proficient with precision metrology (micrometers, calipers, depth gauges) and angle/radius gauges
• Ability to sweep in a mill head/vice and compensate for runout on a lathe
• Understand feeds/speeds and basic G/M codes (for interpreting operations)
• Set up jobs independently with or without formal documentation
• Nice to Have: Broaching experience; exposure to Fanuc, Haas, or Hurco controls; basic programming experience
• Ability to complete forklift and overhead crane training; strong safety mindset; reliable team player
