Position Summary
The CFO is a strategic member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing the financial stewardship of the organization. This role ensures financial integrity, promotes operational efficiency, and supports mission advancement through sound fiscal management, compliance, and strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors on financial strategy and stewardship.
Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization's mission and long-term goals.
Provide financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and operational planning.
Financial Management
Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and auditing.
Lead annual budgeting and planning processes in collaboration with senior leadership.
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
Monitor cash flow, investments, and financial trends to maintain fiscal health.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and relevant non-profit accounting standards.
Manage risk through effective internal controls, insurance policies, and compliance frameworks.
Lead and coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
Donor Stewardship & Grant Oversight
Support donor and grant management through financial reporting, compliance, and transparency.
Collaborate with development teams to align fundraising and financial goals.
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop finance staff with a focus on stewardship, collaboration, and excellence.
Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and service across the finance function.
Technology & Systems
Oversee implementation and optimization of financial systems and tools.
Ensure data integrity and operational efficiency through technology-driven solutions.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7 years of progressive financial leadership, preferably in non-profit or faith-based settings.
- Strong knowledge of non-profit financial management, GAAP, and 501(c)(3) compliance.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial forecasting, and strategic planning.
- MBA / CPA
- Experience working in a ministry, missions organization, or publication/distribution ministry.
- Familiarity with donor-funded organizations and financial reporting to foundations
