Responsibilities:
As a Certified Welding Inspector, you will be responsible for:
1. Inspecting and evaluating welds on structural and piping components to ensure they meet the necessary quality and safety standards.
2. Reviewing and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and procedures to ensure all welding activities are performed in accordance with the project requirements.
3. Conducting visual and dimensional inspections of welds and applying appropriate testing methods such as non-destructive testing (NDT) to evaluate weld quality.
4. Documenting inspection results, maintaining records, and preparing detailed reports of inspection findings.
5. Collaborating with the construction team to address any identified issues or non-conformities and recommending appropriate corrective actions.
6. Providing guidance and training to welders and other construction personnel on best practices for welding processes to ensure quality and compliance.
7. Staying updated with the latest industry standards, regulations, and best practices for welding inspection.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Certified Welding Inspector and Valid AWS CWI.
2. Proficiency in structural and pipe welding with a thorough understanding of welding procedures and safety practices.
3. A valid certification as a Welding Inspector from a recognized institution such as the American Welding Society (AWS) or equivalent.
4. Strong knowledge of construction materials, blueprints, and specifications.
5. Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment and conducting non-destructive testing (NDT).
6. Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
8. A commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
