Job Details
What You’ll Own
This is a strategic business development role focused on growing market share within the defense sector. You’ll identify target programs, build relationships with OEMs, prime contractors, integrators, and defense manufacturers, and position advanced fluid power systems into long-cycle military opportunities. This role is focused on sales strategy, relationship development, and pipeline creation—not compliance infrastructure.
Location: Remote with 50% Travel required. Can be anywhere near a major airport in the US
Preferred Locations: Detroit, MI - Pennsylvania - Indiana
Core Responsibilities
· Develop and execute defense market growth strategy
· Identify new defense OEMs, prime contractors, and integrator opportunities
· Build relationships with engineering, procurement, supply chain, and executive stakeholders
· Identify where hydraulic, fluid power, motion control, filtration, and cooling products fit within defense programs
· Generate new business opportunities and convert pipeline into revenue
· Manage strategic accounts directly or transition accounts internally when appropriate
· Partner with product teams on customer-specific opportunities
· Maintain pipeline forecasting and CRM activity
· Monitor defense market trends and competitive activity
What They Need to See
· Experience selling fluid power, hydraulics, motion control, or engineered technical products
· Defense market experience strongly preferred
· Experience selling into OEMs, prime contractors, integrators, or military-adjacent manufacturers
· Proven ability to open new business relationships
· Experience managing long sales cycles
· Strong executive presence and technical credibility
· Willingness to travel
