Job Details
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant General Counsel to join their legal team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in litigation management, negotiation with contractors and subcontractors, employment law, contract negotiation, risk management, real estate, general corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions. This is a full-time, permanent position with competitive salary and benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of litigation, including case management, budgeting, and strategy development.
- Negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring that all legal requirements are met.
- Provide legal advice and counsel on employment matters, including hiring, termination, discrimination, and harassment.
- Review and negotiate real estate leases, ensuring that all terms are fair and reasonable.
- Assist with business registration and professional company registration, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Draft and review legal disclosure forms, ensuring that all information is accurate and complete.
- Assist with mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, contract negotiation, and regulatory compliance.
- Provide risk management advice and counsel to management and other departments as needed.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the bar in good standing
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the engineering industry
- Strong negotiation and dispute-resolution skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including employment law, real estate law, and contract law.
