Responsibilities:
- Manage the full cycle of accounts payable activities including invoice processing, check runs, and payments.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and maintain vendor files.
- Review and verify invoices and check requests, setting invoices up for payment.
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
- Maintain accurate historical records by filing documents.
- Produce monthly reports and assist with month-end closing.
- Provide supporting documentation for audits.
- Maintain confidentiality of organizational information.
- Collaborate with the team to improve AP processes, making recommendations and implementing enhancements as needed.
- Maintain vendor relationships and manage communication related to invoices, expenses, and check requests.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in an Accounts Payable Specialist role or similar position such as AP Clerk, Accounting Assistant.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
- Experience with accounting software and databases.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to analyze information and data and problem solve.
- Experience in the legal industry is a plus.
