The Accounting Supervisor will provide day-to-day leadership to our Accounts Payable staff, support month-end close activities, contribute to audit readiness, and collaborate with internal departments to ensure efficient and compliant accounting operations. Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and direct the daily activities of the Accounts Payable staff, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and processed in a timely manner.
2. Support month-end close activities, including the preparation and review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement analysis.
3. Contribute to audit readiness by ensuring all financial records are accurate, complete, and in compliance with accepted accounting principles and company policies.
4. Collaborate with internal departments to streamline and improve accounting procedures and operations.
5. Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
6. Prepare and present financial reports, highlighting any trends or issues that need to be addressed.
7. Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
8. Provide training and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering a supportive and productive team environment.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting supervisory role.
3. Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and legislation.
4. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly strong in Excel.
5. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and inspire staff.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
7. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
8. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.
9. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is preferred but not required.
