We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Contract Accounts Payable Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various accounting and clerical tasks related to the maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions. This is a contract position with a duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extension.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Contract Accounts Payable Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various accounting and clerical tasks related to the maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions. This is a contract position with a duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities
- Accurately code and process invoices, ensuring proper documentation and approvals are obtained
- Perform vendor set-up and maintenance in the accounting system
- Conduct reconciliation of vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies
- Prepare and process payments, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers
- Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve payment-related issues and ensure timely and accurate payment processing
- Utilize v-look up and pivot tables in Microsoft Excel to analyze data and identify trends
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files related to accounts payable transactions
- 2 years of experience as an accounts payable clerk or in a similar role
- Strong understanding of debits and credits and general accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including v-look up and pivot tables
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Experience with vendor set-up and maintenance in an accounting system
- Knowledge of account reconciliation and journal entry preparation
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred, but not required
