Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our surgical team in a dynamic healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in perioperative nursing, including OR procedures, aseptic techniques, and patient care before, during, and after surgery. This role requires proficiency with various EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, and Athenahealth, along with a solid understanding of surgical protocols across multiple specialties including ophthalmology, cardiology, trauma medicine, and critical care. The Operating Room RN will play a vital role in ensuring patient safety, maintaining sterile environments, and supporting surgical teams through complex procedures such as suturing, catheterization, and airway management. Experience with specialized treatments like botulinum toxin injections or esthetic laser treatments is a plus. This position offers an opportunity to work within a teaching hospital environment that emphasizes excellence in patient outcomes and adherence to NCQA standards.
Education
Required - Registered Nurse Diploma
Preferred - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
Experience - 2 years in specialty
Required - Experience working with and maintaining confidential information. Experience working in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision.
Preferred - Leadership skills / experience directly supervising or managing others
Basic computer skills
Certifications
Required - Current RN License in the state of practice
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
