This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior People Scientist, Talent Management based in Canada.

This role brings together people science, talent management, data, and technology to strengthen how organizations understand and develop their people. You will use rigorous research and analytical methods to design, measure, and continuously improve company-wide talent programs. Your work will span engagement surveys, performance management cycles, job architecture, measurement frameworks, and other initiatives that shape the employee experience. You will partner closely with People Business Partners, People Analytics, Total Rewards, and senior leaders to turn complex findings into practical recommendations. The role also offers an opportunity to build lightweight applications, dashboards, and AI-enabled workflows that make people insights more accessible and actionable. This is a highly applied position for someone who combines scientific rigor with strong business judgment, stakeholder communication, and a practical approach to technology and automation.

Accountabilities:
  • Own the end-to-end design, delivery, management, and continuous improvement of company-wide talent programs, including bi-annual engagement surveys, performance review cycles, and job architecture initiatives.
  • Develop robust measurement frameworks to assess areas such as performance quality, manager effectiveness, employee engagement, and other critical talent outcomes.
  • Apply sound psychometric, statistical, experimental design, and survey methodology principles to evaluate and improve people programs.
  • Partner with People Business Partners, People Analytics, Total Rewards, and senior stakeholders to translate complex people data into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Build or enhance lightweight applications, dashboards, and AI agents using low-code and AI-assisted tools to make people data more accessible to leaders and stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to automate people-related workflows and improve the scalability and efficiency of talent processes.
  • Serve as a human-in-the-loop for AI-enabled workflows by reviewing, validating, and maintaining outputs to ensure accuracy, reliability, and appropriate oversight.
  • Establish effective working cadences with cross-functional partners to align measurement approaches, program priorities, and talent insights.
  • Use data and research findings to challenge assumptions, identify opportunities, and continuously improve talent programs and processes.
  • Support people strategy across diverse business functions by ensuring talent measurement and insights are rigorous, relevant, and actionable.
  • Apply appropriate people data and research ethics considerations when designing analyses, tools, workflows, and talent programs.
  • Monitor program effectiveness, participation, adoption, and other relevant metrics to assess impact and identify opportunities for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree such as an MSc or PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behaviour, Social Psychology, Human Factors, Behavioural Science, or another related quantitative discipline, or equivalent applied expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of experimental design, psychometrics, survey methodology, inferential statistics, and quantitative research methods.
  • Demonstrated experience applying scientific and analytical methods in practical, fast-moving organizational or talent environments.
  • Proven ability to own active talent program cycles end-to-end, revisit assumptions using data, and optimize processes for effective and timely delivery.
  • Experience designing, evaluating, or improving talent programs such as engagement surveys, performance management processes, job architecture, or related organizational initiatives.
  • Ability to use AI and low-code tools to develop self-service dashboards, lightweight applications, automated workflows, and AI agents that make people data more accessible.
  • Strong understanding of data analysis and reproducible research practices.
  • SQL and/or Python experience is a strong asset.
  • Ability to oversee AI-enabled workflows and maintain appropriate human review, validation, and quality controls.
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific and analytical findings into clear narratives for senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships across People Business Partners, People Analytics, Total Rewards, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple company-wide programs and priorities.
  • Sound judgment regarding people data, research ethics, confidentiality, and responsible use of employee information.
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic environment and combining scientific rigor with practical, business-oriented execution.

  • Base salary of $100,000–$137,500 CAD.
