- Ensure reliability, scalability, and operational stability of production MySQL database environments.
- Manage database operations including replication, failover, backups, recovery, upgrades, and performance tuning.
- Contribute to platform engineering initiatives including automation, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud infrastructure improvements.
- Improve monitoring, alerting, and observability systems to enhance production visibility and incident response.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database, infrastructure, and application issues in production environments.
- Support incident response processes, including root cause analysis and long-term remediation strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in on-call rotations supporting production systems and ensuring uptime.
- Contribute to operational best practices and continuous platform improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in Platform Engineering, SRE, DevOps, Infrastructure, or Database Reliability roles.
- Strong hands-on experience managing production MySQL environments, including replication and performance optimization.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms such as GCP or equivalent environments.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation tools.
- Strong Linux systems administration and troubleshooting skills in production environments.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools for distributed systems.
- Scripting and automation skills in Bash, Python, Go, JavaScript, or similar languages.
- Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and incident response capabilities.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.
- Exposure to security practices, access management, or configuration tools like Ansible is a plus.
