You will be responsible for strengthening safety culture, ensuring full regulatory compliance, and continuously improving HSE performance in both office and industrial environments. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational involvement, including direct engagement with plant teams and leadership groups. You will influence safety behaviors, systems, and processes across a large, multi-site organization while supporting incident prevention and risk reduction. Acting as a key advisor to operations leadership, you will help embed proactive safety practices into day-to-day decision-making. This is a high-visibility position with significant impact on employee wellbeing, operational performance, and organizational standards.
\n- Lead the implementation, execution, and continuous improvement of HSE programs across manufacturing operations in North America.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, provincial, and industry safety regulations and standards.
- Drive incident prevention strategies, including investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and lost-time reduction initiatives.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain HSE policies, training programs, and communication strategies to strengthen safety culture.
- Monitor, analyze, and report HSE performance metrics, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
- Manage relationships with regulatory agencies, external partners, insurers, and internal stakeholders on HSE matters.
- Oversee HSE budgets, projects, and regional safety leaders while supporting operational execution of safety initiatives.
- Coach and mentor HSE teams and plant personnel to elevate safety awareness and accountability.
Requirements:
- 7–10 years of progressive HSE experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. occupational health and safety regulations, including OSHA, CSA, ANSI, and related standards.
- Proven track record of improving safety performance and delivering measurable HSE results.
- Experience in incident investigation, compliance auditing, and risk mitigation processes.
- Strong leadership and coaching abilities with experience managing or influencing teams.
- Ability to develop KPIs, track performance, and drive accountability across multiple sites.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% across North America.
