The position combines hands-on artistic judgment with leadership responsibilities, including team development, hiring, and performance oversight. You will collaborate closely with production, design, and technical teams to ensure smooth execution across complex pipelines. - Evaluate and provide feedback on artwork across 2D, 3D, animation, and related creative disciplines
- Oversee art production pipelines and ensure alignment between artistic, technical, and production requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, production, and engineering to ensure project alignment
- Manage hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and development of artists across multiple teams
- Define team structure, workload distribution, and resource allocation to support production needs
- Plan and manage departmental budgets, staffing requirements, and operational capacity
- Monitor performance, identify gaps, and implement improvements to ensure efficiency and stability
- Ensure adherence to production best practices, workflows, and platform-specific constraints
- Provide clear, actionable feedback and resolve artistic or production challenges proactively
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in game art production with leadership responsibility on shipped projects
- Strong expertise in evaluating artistic quality across 2D, 3D, and animation disciplines
- Solid understanding of game art production pipelines and cross-functional development workflows
- Proven experience in team leadership, hiring, mentoring, and performance evaluation of artists
- Strong background in task scoping, workload planning, budgeting, and resource management
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to justify and defend creative decisions
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously
- Experience collaborating closely with production, design, and technical stakeholders
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Trello, or Figma is a plus
- Experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal is an advantage
