About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our Accounting Operations team within the insurance industry. This role is for an independent, analytical professional who takes full ownership of processes and projects, solves complex problems, and actively drives process improvement. You will partner with stakeholders across the organization to strengthen results and performance. This is an individual contributor role with the opportunity to mentor and coach peers.
What You'll Do
- Work independently with minimal supervision, owning tasks, priorities, and deliverables from start to finish
- Lead end-to-end projects and processes, including planning, setting milestones, monitoring progress, and delivering on time
- Identify, develop, and implement process improvements, and track their effectiveness
- Solve complex, multifaceted problems by gathering information, analyzing root causes, and applying critical thinking
- Conduct in-depth, scenario-based analysis to assess impact and recommend the best path forward
- Communicate clearly with internal teams and external vendors or stakeholders, resolving inquiries professionally
- Influence operational practices by presenting recommendations and aligning approaches across functions
- Coach and train peers and junior team members on best practices and standard work
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5 years of professional accounting or finance experience
- Background in accounting operations, finance operations, or a similar transaction-processing environment
- Proven ability to own and manage end-to-end processes or projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including issues spanning multiple stakeholders
- Excellent communication and stakeholder partnership skills
Nice to Have
- Experience designing and implementing process improvements and measuring results with KPIs
- Experience training or coaching peers in best practices
